Barb Winsor

The majority of my career was spent working at The Moncton Hospital and in healthcare in New Brunswick and this has provided me with an increased appreciation for the Friends of The Moncton Hospital Foundation and the work they do for the many donors in the region.

The people of southeastern New Brunswick have been generous in their support for the Foundation and its important work in improving healthcare. The Foundation has been involved in a number of projects over the last few years, most notably, the creation of a Maternity and Newborn Unit (expected occupancy early 2023) and the relocation and expansion of the Cardiac Care Unit (construction to start April 2022).

I am a former pharmacist and director of pharmacy services at The Moncton Hospital, as well as registrar of the New Brunswick Pharmaceutical Society. I also served as chief of staff in the office of former Premier Bernard Lord and was president of NB Liquor.

This is my third year on the board of directors for the Friends of the Moncton Hospital Foundation. Other volunteer work includes serving on the boards of directors at St. Thomas University, Lest We Forget, New Brunswick Regional Development Corporation, and Muriel McQueen Ferguson Foundation. I have also volunteered in fundraising efforts for the Moncton YMCA, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, the Alzheimer’s Association, and the Canadian Cancer Society.

My husband, Doug, and I are proud to call Moncton home and have been here for over 45 years. We have two grown children also living in New Brunswick.
