Serge Melanson

I have a unique perspective on the Friends of The Moncton Hospital Foundation and am eager to make a difference with the board of directors.

As an emergency department physician and former chief of staff, I can attest to the fact that there is no part of the hospital that has not benefitted greatly from the foundation’s work.

I hope my board work in healthcare can assist the foundation in the important work they do for our medical staff and patients. I am a former president of the New Brunswick Medical Society. I have served on several health-related committees, including improving patient flow, medical assistance in dying, physician recruiting and the modernization of inter-facility ambulance transfers. I have also recently joined the leadership team of eVisitNB, New Brunswick's first virtual care organization.

When not at the hospital, I enjoy spending time with my partner Margo and our four children: Mika, Miguel, Abigael and Alexander. Most of our time is spent enjoying outdoor pursuits like swimming, skiing and camping.
