Family Leaves Gift in Their Will

The Lillys Leave a Gift in Their Will

Dorothy and Brian are proud to be Gifts for Life Society members and encourage others to think about leaving a legacy to The Moncton Hospital.

Over the past few years, 79-year-old, Dorothy Lilly from Riverview underwent multiple surgeries relating to a tumour at the top of her head discovered at a routine dermatology appointment. A biopsy revealed it was squamous-cell-carcinoma cancer. Dorothy experienced several complications after the initial removal and required three follow-up surgeries at The Moncton Hospital alone. She is so thankful
for the both the plastic and neuro surgeons for saving her life.

Dorothy’s 80-year-old husband Brian, whom she has been married to for 55 years, also experienced an extensive and critical health issue approximately 20 years ago and is still being treated to this day for Wegener’s Granulamatosis (a rare disorder in which blood vessels become inflamed). They are both extremely grateful to all the staff involved over the years for their excellent care, which they say has been
second to none.

The Gifts for Life Society is a select group of donors who have remembered the Foundation in their will and have advised us of their plans. The Foundation has been privileged to be named in the estates of many caring individuals.

At this year’s Tea and Talk, Maria Vrensen, and Brian and Dorothy Lilly were presented their framed Oak Leaf by Christa Wheeler-Thorne, Executive Director of TMH and Shane Esson, Friends Foundation Board Chair. Sandra Clouston also became a member but was not in attendance.
