Look out for Friends Foundation canvassers at your door!
Between July to September 2024, you may have Friends Foundation canvassers come to your doorstep to talk to you about the benefits of becoming a monthly donor. We are partnering with Globalfaces Direct, one of North America’s largest face-to-face fundraising services. Our representatives receive comprehensive training which allows them to speak on behalf of the Friends Foundation about our fundraising priorities and programs. As part of the sign-up process, fundraisers will contact the call center to process donations conveniently on-site. Please note that located on the back of the canvassers badge, you will find this number (902-593-0443) should you wish to call to verify the canvasser at your door.

1. Why does the Friends Foundation do door-to-door fundraising?
Friends Foundation is engaging in face-to-face fundraising for two reasons:
- It enables us to improve public awareness of our purpose to inspire our communities to transform health care and change lives.
- It also allows our monthly giving program to provide reliable, long-term funds to support quality health care, improving outcomes for all patients at The Moncton Hospital.
2. How do I know the fundraiser is from the Friends Foundation?
Our teams will be canvassing across the Greater Moncton area and will be identifiable by their Friends Foundation branded teal/green vests and photo ID. Each team member is also equipped with electronic tablets to track and process your donation. Our fundraisers never accept cash or cheques at the door which helps protect both the donor and fundraiser. If you wish to make a monthly gift, our fundraisers will accept debit and credit card payments. You may also choose to make your gift online at https://donate.friendsfoundation.ca/monthly-giving/
3. What is the sign-up process like?
Our fundraiser will enter and submit your information into the secure tablet and then call into the Telephone Verification Center with the following numbers: 1-888-336-0663 or 902-593-0443. The agent on the phone will proceed to confirm your information on a secure recorded line and process your first donation on the spot. A confirmation email will be sent automatically and you can expect to receive a welcome call within 24-48 hours of your donation.
We use tablets with encrypted software to collect payment information in a secure way. All the data we collect is immediately uploaded to our remote servers, processed and then completely deleted from the device. Once processed, your financial data is further encrypted according to Payment Compliance Industry (PCI) Standards.
4. Will you protect my privacy?
Yes. The Friends Foundation is committed to protecting the privacy of your personal information and adheres to legislated privacy requirements. Any personal information we collect is used for donor-related and tax-receipting purposes, or to keep you informed about our activities and other mission-related communications. 5. When and how will I receive my tax receipt?
Your consolidated tax receipt will be generated annually and mailed to you every February, to the address you provided. You can cancel, reduce or increase your monthly donation amount, or change your gift schedule anytime by phone 506-857-5488 or email friends@friendsfoundation.ca
